Our Audition Process!

Our audition process follows a simple template:

1. SINGING: For our vocal auditions, prepare approximately 1 minute of a song (musical theatre or otherwise) that you feel best displays your vocal ability and range, as well as your acting ability. Be sure to have your vocal tracks pre-cut on your device so you can get up, hit play, and start singing right away!

2. DANCE: Dance auditions are taught on the day(s) of auditions and are created specially by the show's choreographer to both fit the style of the show and display each auditionee's individual dance capabilities. Have fun and do your best!

Be sure to bring appropriate footwear (will be denoted in the specific audition posts) and plenty of water, as the dance will be run continuously until either the allotted time runs out or everyone in the current group feels ready for the audition.

3. ACTING: Depending on the needs of the specific show, you may be required to participate in cold reading, which is reading excerpts from the scripts without previous preparation, and are usually done with another auditionee. Use this opportunity to showcase your talent while being able to show us your interpretation of the given character in the show.

The order goes like this:

1. Learn the dance!

2. Audition group moves into audition space!

3. Sing your song for the audition board!

4. Dance audition time! You're given two shots to show what you've got: once from the front of the line and once from the back.

5. Cold readings (if applicable)!

Note the exact order may vary per audition process/directorial needs. Audition information for a show will be sent out as soon as possible on our social media and website. When the post comes out, there will be two things for you to do if you want to audition: fill out the Google Form audition sheet and and sign up for a time slot via our SignupGenius link!
